Welcome to Texas Heritage Online

Texas History Resources

Libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions have produced a wide variety of resources for students, teachers, genealogists, and researchers. Here you can explore some of these resources.

Finding Aids

Finding aids are documents that describe the scope, contents, and provenance of collections. In many cases, they provide a list of the contents of the collection as an aid to researchers who may wish to use the collection.

Games and Activities

Many institutions have made games and interactive activities available for students and learners of all ages. Enjoy these tools featuring Texas history!

Lesson Plans

Archives, libraries, and museums in Texas make primary resource materials available for educational use. Often, they also provide resources for teachers that can be used as a starting point for developing lesson plans.

Web Resources

Texas libraries, archives, and museums make many online books, encyclopedias, and exhibits available online as web resources. You can use this search tool to find articles, items, and other resources not included in the main Texas Heritage Online search tool.
